Unfortunately, over time, when we don't take the time to think about what we really want, we can get the feelings of frustration, unhappiness, tenseness or being stuck. Those feelings can cause stress and affect all aspects of our lives.
Yes, stress is a daily part of our lives! We are tough! We can (and do) handle lots stress.... most of the time.
As a Coach who has worked with hundreds of clients over the years, I have watched stress cloud thinking then leading to poor choices of words and actions. Stress can begin to derail us so we look for ways to reduce stress - exercise, yoga, sleep, wine. All great tools! No judgment here!
The difference is coaching is not a stress reduction tool to add to your life - it is about getting to the heart of what you want and working to help you get it - having a transformative impact on you.
Taking the time to have a real conversation with a coach about what you want helps you get the necessary perspective. People are able to be open and honest with their coach in a way they generally cannot with anyone else in their life. “I do not want to tell my wife this because it will worry her.” or “I don’t trust anyone I work with enough to share these thoughts/ideas with them.” Sound familiar?
